Based in Adelaide, the Samoyed Club is dedicated to promoting the breed, supporting members, providing advice and disseminating information about events and issues of interest.
We hold a Championship breed specialty show each year, together with several social events, and support members involved in a range of activities including:
Dog Shows
Sled Dog Racing
Obedience
Weight Pull
Herding
Pack Hiking
Agility
Tracking
The club is affiliated with the SA Canine Assoc. and maintains close links with other like-minded clubs and organisations such as the Siberian Husky & Alaskan Malamute Club, the SA Sled Dog Club and the Wild Dog Mushers Assoc.
Rescue
While the club has no "formal" rescue program, we have been successful on a number of occasions in finding new homes for Samoyeds in need.
Fortunately, the need doesn't arise too often, but if you would be interested in re-homing an older dog at some time in the future, please register with the club secretary.
Promotions
The club routinely participates in promotional events such as Animal Expos and other exhibitions - any opportunity to educate the public on all aspects of owning a Samoyed.
We have produced 3 brochures covering (1) the breed, (2) sled dog sports and (3) herding which can be downloaded as pdf files:
